The Graduate Management Admissions Test commonly abbreviated as GMAT  is considered to be one of the most reputed and standardized test for a student who is aspiring to pursue the graduate studies in Management in some well renound universities. By taking the GMAT exam an aspiring student can opt for a variety of management/business programs which majorly includes full time and executive-MBA programs, Masters in Public Administration, Ph.Ds. in business, Masters in Accountancy and many more. It is a global test which is undertaken by 5,400 programs at more than 1,500 universities in 82 countries. The GMAT test is administered by an association known as GMAC (Graduate Management Admission Council).The collected data presumes that this test is taken more than 250,000 times annually. The test can be re-taken atleast 31 days after the last exam undertake. GMAT can be taken up at a maximum of five times in a year.

The GMAT test commences in approximately in four hours. The medium of language of the exam is English. Unlike GRE, the GMAT exam is acomputer-adaptive test. This means that with every correct answer, the level of difficulty of the next question increases and with every wrong answer the difficulty decreases. There is a major disadvantage in this type of test and that is one cannot skip the questions. It is mandatory to answer the question and then only one can move to the next question.
