Audience Question: I am on a tight budget, should I tell my mechanic just how much I can afford to invest?
Do you like to look at your car in pertaining to repairs? Do you ever feel as if you were cheated or rooked by the shop or their mechanics? Do you know it may be what you are saying towards the repair shop that is certainly costing you more? Most auto repair retailers are run by honest hard-working people playing with some circumstances you may bring out the dark side with some shops.

She thought she received transmission trouble and assumed that it would cost her a fortune to repair. While on a test drive with her I concluded that the problem was not necessarily transmission-related, but that the car or truck probably needed a tune up or something along those lines.
But wait, this person wanted to provide me $500! If I was no honest shop owner, I would have remained quiet around the test drive and taken the money that she was willing to pay. Let’s say that When i told this customer i always could fix her car because I’m a nice guy and also since she only had $500 to invest I would try that can help her out just as much as I could. In reality, the actual repairs needed would’ve only cost $200.
Because this customer imagined she had expensive sign trouble, she would probably enjoy an a bill for $350 and she is going to also think the retail outlet did her a favor. Her first mistake was to diagnose the challenge herself. I wonder if she travels to her dentist and conveys to her which tooth for you to pull or if she thinks it truly is time for another actual canal? You take your car to the repair shop to have another individual diagnose and repair the car; so let them complete their job. Her second mistake was to share with the shop how much she was prepared to spend.
Most of the movement and service writers that we know of work upon commission, and in the case in point above, an additional $150 would sure become a nice tip.
